Peru is going to invest over ?30 mln for MiG-29 upgrade

According to the Russian aviation portal Avia.ru the government of Peru agreed over £30 mln investment programme for military fighters MiG-29 upgrade and antitank missile systems purchase.

The Ministry of Defence of Peru and the Russian Aircarft Crorporation “MiG” had already signed an agreement for MiG-29 upgrade on 12 August 2008 which provides for 19 aircraft modernisation adopted in the Peruvian Air Force to the version MiG-29SMR. Peru purchased 16 one-seater MiG-29S and 2 two-seater MiG-29UB in Belarus in 1996. And in 1998 three more fighters MiG-29S were purchased in Russia.
